Do you remember being told not to play with your food? Well, it’s time to throw that saying out of the window and get creative! Making fruit platters is one of my favourite creative outlets in the kitchen, and this time I wanted to try something different.
Here’s a very simple first try at a fruit mandala. Mandalas are so beautiful and soothing to watch with their repetitive patterns, but gosh how much more difficult to make than I had imagined. I thought I had cut the fruit very thoroughly in even shapes, but I apparently have a lot to work on there.
This fruit mandala is made with watermelon, honeydew melon and kiwi. I’m definitely not giving up so easily – I will make another try but use the fruits’ natural shapes as a starting point.
